A four hour tour of the famous Hampton Court Palace can immerse you in the history of Tudor England, the lifestyle of King Henry VIII and his six wives, and the beauty of the English countryside.
Hampton Court Palace was built in 1515 by Cardinal Wolsey, Chief Minister for Henry VIII, and expanded by the King in the 16th century after he seized it from Wolsey who fell from the King’s favour. This riverside palace is a fine example of Tudor architecture, where you can visit the famous Tudor kitchens and King Henry’s state apartments along with beautiful majestic gardens. The gardens feature immaculately manicured lawns, flower beds, fountains, and even a maze. Over the centuries, Hampton Court Palace has been home to many British monarchs, including King William III and Queen Mary II. It remained a royal residence until the 18th century when it was opened to the public.
